High-Purity Barite Filler for Powder Coatings
Natural Barium Sulphate (BaSO₄) is a finely ground, high-purity barite powder engineered for powder coating formulations. It serves as an effective extender and functional filler, enabling formulators to reduce cost while maintaining film quality, without interfering with the curing chemistry of the binder system.
Performance Advantages
- Surface quality: Uniform particle size ensures consistent dispersion during extrusion and a smooth, well-levelled film.
- Low oil absorption: Permits higher filler loadings with minimal increase in melt viscosity.
- Film performance: Contributes to film hardness, body and edge coverage.
- Chemical resistance: Chemically inert, with good resistance to acids, alkalis and solvents.
- Cure compatibility: Non-reactive with resins, hardeners and pigments.
- Processing: Moderate hardness (Mohs approx. 3–3.5) results in low wear on extruders and mills.
- Economy: Lowers the cost per kilogram of the finished powder.
